The Madrid giants winger Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to fans for his conduct when substituted in Sunday's fiery Clasico clash triumph.

Vinicius was replaced in the second half and showed his disappointment by walking immediately down the tunnel.

The Brazilian subsequently came back to the dugout and, after his club's narrow triumph, attempted to approach Barcelona's youngster Yamal during contentious after the game scenes.

"This day I want to apologise to all the Madridistas for my response when I was replaced in the big match," he shared on his account.

"In the same way as I have previously expressed during the latest session, I would like to say sorry once more to my colleagues, the club, and the leadership.

"Sometimes emotion gets the better of me because I constantly desire to triumph and help my side. My competitive character stems from the love I feel for this team and all it stands for."

Vinicius signed for Madrid from his former club in recent years for millions and has accumulated over a century of strikes in numerous matches.

But his future in the La Liga is far from certain with reports in lately suggesting that Los Blancos would consider letting the young star leave if they were to receive a good proposal.

When the winger was replaced on Sunday, broadcast footage from coverage provider the service recorded him remarking: "Again me! I'm exiting the club! It's wiser if I go, I'm going."

In his most recent message on the platform, the athlete stated: "I vow to keep battling at all times for the benefit of the club, as I have performed since the very beginning."
